Garlic Cheese Crack Bread

If you want a super cheesy, buttery, garlicky pull-apart bread that's fun to eat, then you will want to make this crack bread. Why crack? Because you won't want to stop eating it, trust me. And there are lots of cracks in the bread filled with yummy goodness.

It's perfect for parties (when we can have them again!) or just for your family to enjoy. And the best part - when you get to the bottom you have the base that is drenched in the buttery, garlicky goodness. I recommend using a good (fresh, if you can make it or get it) sourdough, but French bread will work too!

Here's how to make it:

NOTE: Depending on the size of the bread, you may need to double (or 1.5X) the recipe.

  • 1 loaf Sourdough or French Bread (not sliced)

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 stick (8 TBS) unsalted butter, softened

  • 4 large garlic cloves, minced

  • 3/4 TSP kosher salt

  • 1 TBS fresh parsley, finely chopped

  1. Preheat your oven to 350° F.

  2. Combine the butter, garlic and salt in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in the microwave until melted, about 1 minute.

  3. Stir in the chopped parsley.

  4. Cut the bread on a diagonal into 1" diamonds, being careful not to cut all the way through.

  5. Use your fingers or a butter knife to pry open each crevice, or crack, and drizzle in a teaspoon of butter and a pinch of cheese. Double check to make sure you got all the cracks!

  6. Brush the top of the bread with any remaining butter.

  7. Wrap the bread completely with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then unwrap the foil and bake for another 5-10 minutes.

  8. Serve immediately, get a pic or video of that cheese pull, and enjoy!
